The Yacht Harbor has an eclectic mix of old beach bungalows, modern beach homes and an assortment in between, with a sprinkling of condominiums. These homes are all a few blocks from the beach and boating activities.

While many of the lots closest to the water are small, it doesn’t keep the prices small. The Santa Cruz Yacht Harbor area bounded by Lake avenue, and 7th avenue, which typically have small lots. On the other side of 7th avenue, off of 8th and 9th and 10th avenue they lots tend to be a bit bigger. As is the case when the land was split into lots, the real estate was not of great value. The bigger lots were seen as more to have to maintain. It used to be most all of these older homes were originally beach cottages, that were used part timeSanta Cruz real estate by the water is in demand and commands a fair price in most all locations.

As the area increased in density and demand, these older beach cottages have been remodeled and torn down, giving way to new architectural design and function. This is a great area if you want a beach rental or to just hang out, forget you have a car and just relax.
