Geist vs. Fishers - Round 2

Indy Realtor posted this 1,153 Views

In a bold move to fight the town of Fishers annexing them, Geist residents have filed 273 petitions with Hamilton County to become the towns of East and West Geist.  If this measure gets approved, the two new towns could be incorporated as early as November 2007. Although I think one Geist would be better than two, earlier this year the town of Fishers annexed the lake bottom of Geist reservoir and forced Geist residents to incorporate into the two separate towns.  Geist residen...

Nobody really knows exactly where the Hudson Valley Real Estate Area starts and stops. As the term becomes more marketable it seems that it takes on a life of its’ own and grows in every direction along the Hudson River. From a real estate perspective, second-home buyers looking for the most bang for their buck are looking on the west side of the river heading more north into the Catskills, in search of more home buying value. Ulster and Sullivan Counties seem to be the destination of choice...

I first met Dean-O Hicks when I moved to Bonita Springs in 1998. He was running Master Bait and Tackle shop at the time and more than a few old timers said he was the man to see for anyone wanting to learn about fishing here in Southwest Florida. Being from the Midwest, I was well versed in fresh water angling techniques but had no idea what to do when it came to fishing in salt water. All I can say about Dean is that he didn't know me from the next guy, but he never hesitated when I asked...

Fed Interest Rate Cut and Promises of Future Cuts Should Help Troubled Housing Market

escapeso posted this 1,303 Views

The Fed cut interest rates by .5% today. Although a rate cut was expected, 0.5% was at the upper end range of what was expected. This is good news for a troubled national housing market. The stock market responded with a 300 point rally. The rate cut is important for its financial help, but such an aggressive move is also an indicator that the Fed plans on addressing the current issues in the credit markets. Another bit of good news is that the Fed released a statement after the meeting sa...
