Surrey, BC

Surrey was incorporated in 1879. The second largest city in British Columbia offers abundant parks, rich multi-cultural communities, excellent recreational facilities, numerous shopping centres and booming economy. Often called the "City of Parks", Surrey has over 6000 acres of parkland, eco-tourism and numerous golf courses. Approximately 35% of the land is designated as agricultural, but constant pressure for growth continues to erode the edges of what was once a largely rural landscape.

With a population in excess of 450,000 and access to a labour pool of over one million, Surrey's location in the region provides excellent opportunities for business growth and expansion. Surrey is in close proximity to five major highways, four railways, deep-sea docking facilities and an international airport. The Skytrain rapid transit line means Vancouver is less than 35 minutes away via public transit. The Canada/U.S. border puts City Centre businesses within easy access of local, national and world markets.

Surrey Real Estate

The City of Surrey has a large and varied industrial and commercial base with more industrial designated land than any other municipality in the Greater Vancouver Regional District. Prime vacant land is being developed at a rapid rate. The main industrial areas include Port Kells, Newton, South Westminster, Cloverdale, Bridgeview, and Campbell Heights.

Surrey real estate offers something for everyone - from 1 bedroom apartments to acreages and farms. It is estimated that around 1300 people move to Surrey every month. As such the real estate development is an important economic driver. Surrey comprises six communities: Cloverdale, Fleetwood, Guildford, Newton, South Surrey and Whalley.
