Website Updates

When you are researching real estate or homes for sale in any area we think our csutomers are generally interested in knowing more about what the area has to offer.  With that in mind, we've been doing some work on our Enterprise Alabama Real Estate site to bring our customers more information about the  community. There are new pages on Enterprise parks, churches and schools.

On our Enterprise Alabama schools page, you will find an overview of each school in the Enterprise City School District, including student/teacher ratios, grade spans and total enrollment.  You'll also find contact information and links to each school.

There are many churches in the Fort Rucker area, and although we don't claim to have found them all, we've added a directory…

Weather Is Wonderful, Wish You Were Here

photo Becky Hancock Realty

We love weather forecasts like this one in Enterprise Alabama and while it's one of the best times of the year (weather-wise) all over the country, here in southeast Alabama we delight in the mild climate year round.   So here's how it breaks down for the year.

In the winter, our average high is 59; average low is 37.
In the spring, our average high is 78;  average low is 53.
In the summer, our average high is 91; average low is 68.
in the fall, our average high is 79, average low is 54.

So if you are looking for Enterprise Alabama real estate, maybe you  PCS to Fort Rucker soon or you're thinking of retirement, you won't need your heavy coat!  But do make sure you are well stocked with golf clubs and fishing rods.

Current Real Estate Market In Southern Alabama

photo Becky Hancock Realty

It seems that everyday people ask me about the market in our area.  Is it a Buyer’s Market? All the national news seems depressing………ugh!

I had been telling folks that we were feeling it a little in the Enterprise, Alabama real estate market -  new home prices are down some and that there are lots of homes on the market in the $225000 to $325,000 market (about 18 months supply based on the last absorption study I heard) but that homes are still selling and the market is good.

I have gotten some pretty low ball offers lately and I was beginning to questions my market data and found out some interesting facts.  The house I had listed was on the market in the high $180’s and the offer was something like $164,900 or something silly like that so I thought…

Dedicated To A Pest

photo Becky Hancock Realty

Enterprise, Alabama is a charming mix of the old South and a progressive community dedicated to progress. Whether you are visiting the area or moving here and looking for homes for sale, you will be welcomed by the warm and gracious community.  We are probably best known for our monument on main street - the only monument in the world dedicated to a pest.

Now,  that calls for some explanation doesn't it?  No description of Enterprise is complete without the story of the Boll Weevil Monument.  The story is very telling when it comes to the spirit of this community.

Enterprise, like much of southeast Alabama, has it's roots in agriculture.  Cotton was a staple for farmers in this area in the 19th century.  But in 1915, about 60% of the cotton crop was…

Grand Opening In Enterprise

photo Becky Hancock Realty

We celebrated our new real estate offices in Enterprise, Alabama today with a ribbon cutting and open house.  We really just moved down the street from our former location, but it was a big move for us.  Our new spacious offices will give us room to grow even more!

The Mayor of Enterprise, Kenneth Boswell,  cut the ribbon while the rest of us posed for the photo op.  It was great to see so many friends, and clients come to help us celebrate.    It says a lot about the spirit of community in the Enteprise area that real estate agents from other firms came to help us celebrate.  And they had a great time!

We've put together a few photos below.  I hope as you look through them you see the kind of warm, friendly people that make Enteprise, Alabama so…

Friday Night Lights In Enterprise, AL

photo Becky Hancock Realty

August 31 saw the first football game of the 2007 season get underway at Bates Memorial Stadium in Enterprise, AL. After the March 2006 tornado destroyed school and heavily damaged the stadium, the game was a welcome symbol of the rebuilding process. Generous donations helped rebuild the stadium in time for football season, including a donation from Enterprise Rent-A-Car in the amount of $50,000 back in June.

We think that's a neat gift. The regional vide president of the Atlanta-based company said, "We share more than a name with this city. We've shared our community's pain these past few months, and we're proud to share its hopes for the future. This gift from our Foundation comes with good wishes from my company's more -than 65,000 employees and…
