AVA Condominium Update

The AVA Condo (website) announced they’ve recently secured a Master Use Development Permit (MUP). The 39-story tower at 8th and Pine will feature traditional condominium homes and a luxury hotel. AVA’s developers anticipate construction to begin by the end of the year.

The AVA presentation center, located at 8th & Olive, is nearing completion and should open shortly. The center will include a scale model of the tower, kitchen and bath vignettes, final floor plans, representative views and finish samples.

Pontedera Condos - Affordable Seattle Condos

Pontedera Condo

Homesite, a non-profit community development company, is breaking ground on a new condominium project in Seattle’s Rainier Valley neighborhood on city-owned surplus land intended for affordable workforce housing.

The six-story $32 million project will feature 17 live/work lofts and 85 condo units. Prices will start from $220,000 with financing assistance up to $120,000 for families earning less than 80% of the area’s median income. Additionally, 20 units will have a resale cap to ensure affordable inventory will be available in the future.

The project is located at 809 Hiawatha Place. Completion is slated for late 2009.

The Remaking Of 2nd Avenue

Downtown Seattle’s 2nd Avenue has been receiving quite a bit of attention lately with several condominium, apartment and office towers under construction or planned. The most notable of these include the 1521 Condominium, 1 Hotel & Residences, 2nd & Pike (hotel & condo) and the Liberty Building (office & apartment) developments.

Now, add three more potential projects to the list. On the horizon are 1915 2nd, 1931 2nd and 2015 2nd.

  • The 1915 2nd project is a 24-story 171-unit condominium being developed by Intracorp.
  • The 1931 2nd proposal is a 40-story hotel and residential tower with 135 hotel rooms and 182 residential units.

Green Lake Condo Info

The Green Lake neighborhood in North central Seattle is centered around Seattle's most active recreational spot, Green Lake Park.  The lake is ringed by a 2.8 mile path popular with a diverse group of patrons including joggers, bicyclists, rollerbladers and those wishing to take a casual stroll.

Queen Anne Condo Review

Eastlake Condo Review

Wedged between Lake Union and Capitol Hill is Seattle's Eastlake neighborhood, one of the city's oldest.  Eastlake contains a mixture of office & commercial space, apartments, condos and is dotted with single-family homes and well-established small businesses.  The neighborhood is a popular place to reside given its easy access to the University of Washington and downtown.

 While most of the new condo projects are focused around downtown and its core neighborhoods, developers have not overlooked Eastlake with three new condominium projects underway.

South Lake Union Condo Report

Part of Seattle's condo revolution includes the transformation of the South Lake Union and Gateway districts just north of downtown.  South Lake Union owes its revitalization from a sleepy light commercial district into a bio-medical and residential hub to the vision of Microsoft's co-founder, Paul Allen.  Allen, through his Vulcan Real Estate arm, envisions transforming the area by emulating Portland's population Pearl District

 Allen initially began acquiring land in the South Lake Union area in the 1990's in support of the community-based Seattle Commons Park initiative.  Voters, though, said no to creating a major in-city park.  The rest is history.

Green Lake Area Condos

The Green Lake neighborhood in Seattle's north-end is a vibrant, active neighborhood centering around Green Lake Park.  One of the many jewels in Seattle, the lush Green Lake Park rings a 2.8 mile lake providing Seattlelites with rowing, running, blading, walking, biking, tennis, soccer, basketball and softball activities.

So, it's no secret that living close to the lake is very desirable.  Two of the largest condominium project are The Greenlake and Florera.  Both are less than 2 block to the lake and are within footsteps to many cafes, shops and restaurants.
