And the Number One Reason to Live in Colorado is...

The Best of Both Worlds --

A very hip, vibrant and major city, complemented perfectly by the Rocky Mountains at its doorstep.  

Your home does not exist in a vacuum! Quality of life includes what you do when you step outside your door.  For most living in the Denver Metropolitan area (or most anywhere in Colorado) there’s no denying that we feel we have a significant advantage over most places when it comes to quality of life.  Access to a major city with loads of things to do, plus access to the true “Great Outdoors” affords us the luxury of a lifestyle many do not get to enjoy.

 
Here’s an example of why my wife and I love living here. This past week, we have dined at a swanky Italian restaurant in the city and played a round of golf at a great local course. When the weekend arrived, we decided to get away, so we packed up the kids and within an hour and fifteen minutes we were sitting in a quaint, pristine, postcard-pretty town taking in the unmistakable fresh mountain air. 

There are not a lot of places you can, on a whim, take in an evening in a hip city, play a round of golf on a gorgeous spring day, or decide to dash off to connect with nature in an inspiring mountain setting. Lots of places offer good quality of life, but I would put Colorado and the Denver metro area up against just about any of them. While our real estate market did boom (and raise housing costs) with the rest of them, many (if not most) areas are still affordable, especially when comparing them to other locations with similar attributes. This is what makes Denver and Colorado, in my mind, one of the best places you could be.
 
Below are some photos from our weekend in Breckenridge. Spotting five red foxes (one just outside our door) was fun, especially for my kids who think it’s pretty darn cool anytime you see a wild animal. We also saw some Big Horn Sheep grazing on the side of the highway during the drive up, but decided not to endanger the family by trying to snap a picture while I was driving at highway speeds!
