Florida Tax Relief

There has been much discussion with lawmakers regarding the current real estate tax structure and proving relief for current homeowners. For many non residents the increased value of their properties has significantly raised their tax bill. Some non-residents may pay up to two times the taxes as a resident owner with similar properties. The current structure also is hurting people who purchase homes now , including first time home buyers who are priced out the market with the added cost of real estate taxes; homeowners are paying higher taxes based on the assessed value on the home. Florida is beginning to lose a lot of residents to other states. The Tampa economy needs the second home buyers and the first time home buyers. It helps the employment, the business, the schools and the overall economy. Hopefully lawmakers can find a happy medium to help the resident and non resident property owners in Florida. We do not want  to lose our current and future residents of this great state.
