When purchasing a home always use a licensed home inspector. This service usually costs around $350.00 depending on the size of the home. Your home inspector is trained and educated to find any problems with the home. There are a few things he or she cannot do, such as look through the walls. There will also be things that he or she might find that will need a more thorough inspection, such as the roof of your new dream. The nominal charge for having your home inspected prior to purchasing is very worthwhile. It could save you thousands of dollars.
