Chicago Home Prices: Chilling Out
An index of single-family home prices for the Chicago-Naperville-Joliet area went up 4.9% in the 12 months ended Sept. 30, down from a 9.8% gain in the prior year, according to Fiserv Lending Solutions, a unit of Brookfield, Wis.-based Fiserv Inc.

from what i noticed, when you think about living in a city , a more urban and up and coming area of Chicago.. Wicker Park or Buck town for instance... you have to realize that 300-400k is going to get you nothing more then a modern unit on a single floor or a duplex....
