Alzheimer’s Promising Research

This grant will allow UC Davis to form the NeuroTheraputics Research Institute.  This Institute is one of nine interdisciplinary research consortia.  The goal is to integrate different disciplines to address health challenges that have been resistant to traditional research approaches.  In addition to finding treatments that specifically target FXTAS, institute researches will improve understanding of all age-related neurodegenerative processes.  With the big bulge of baby-boomers approaching, they seek to get ahead of these diseases, which lead to a loss of quality of life. The healthier we are as seniors, the less costs burden our health care system, the better we enjoy our golden years. When we are healthier, we are less a burden to our kids, which we all want to avoid. Long term care insurance can help with this. This is different than health care insurance though.
