Today is Fathers Day

So today is another day in life . For some it is a special day they get to be treated like a king, for others it is a day to sell something. While in real estate we'd like to think a kind wife would buy her husband a beach house or the ski chateau, but that happens with rare frequency. Maybe it shouldn't ,and this should be a mothers and fathers day gift to each of you?

As Lexus has tried to sell the idea of buying a 50 or 60 thousand dollar car as a gift, that is more plausible to most, from a financial standpoint. In the Santa Cruz area, almost any real estate is going to cost you $300,000 as a minimun. So if we were to consider what you would pay, cash, for the Lexus, that would be a good down payment on an entry level condominium. So instead of 5 years of joy,one could have a lifetime of pleasure and a tax deduction and likely good investment. There, the gift that keeps on giving and is a good investment. Now won't you be sage, and dad proud of you !

Right now there are some great deals in short sales and foreclosures in Santa Cruz and the surrounding areas. I have the best opportunities to find them in the market in an easy to view format. So as you are thinking just what would dear old dad wants... maybe a beach house or condo in Capitola for retirement, ask him. You might be surprised what he wants. Am I am guessing it is not a tie or cologne.

Happy Father's Day to all.

The Santa Cruz area is a vibrant community, located on the north end of Monterey Bay, and is home to artisans, beach goers, hi tech types, and college students. There is plenty of natural beauty from the ocean side coastal towns to the little mountain communities.
