Scotts Valley Senior Center Scores : A Scotts Valley Seniors Real Estate Specialist( SRES) experience

Scotts Valley, Ca is a nice community located about 15 minutes north of the Santa Cruz beaches in Santa Cruz, CA.Recently the Scotts Valley Senior Center held it's second annual Wine and Chocolate Festival. The day was sunny and the crowd was steady throughout the day.My date was a spry 86 year old who was not told of the surprise. She was surprised and please to learn of the wine and chocolate.

We tried the different vendors one by one. She sampling the chocolates, me the wine and chocolate pairings suggested by the winemakers. Their were about 6 wineries represented and about 10 chocolatiers. The event was a very fun affair that raised $1700 for the Scotts Valley Senior Center. As a Seniors Real Estate Specialist(SRES), supporting such an event was a fun way to connect with a client and introduce her to the center. While this event is not in the same league as the Scotts Valley Art and Wine Festival,the crowd was generally older, though the fun was enjoyed as though one was much younger.

I encourage others in the seniors real estate segment of the market to consider doing such an event as a community fundraiser. To be sure it involves quite a bit, but once these things get going, they are generally self perpetuating. The pairing of great local chocolateiers with local vintners is a really nice pairing. One rarely finds a couple that does not like at least wine or chocolate; it one did, you may want to find other friends. This event was put together by the ever hard working Zibe, Ferd Bergholz and with the grateful assistance of Fran Bergholz,Gloria Frazier and Padma and Jannell.

Some of the chocolates were very creative in shapes and pairing of their contents, be it fruit, nuts or salts.I particularly enjoyed wines by Bargetto and especially liked their port. As we left I purchased a large piece of some decadent 4 chocolate cake and seriously thought about having it, but relented to the urge to eat it myself and gave it to my friend as a gift.I later found what would have been one fine dessert for me was a delightful dessert for my friend for 3 times. So it was better and the pleasure tripled with her enjoyment. Our seniors are treasured parts of our society and having events like this get people to connect on many levels and is a fun way to support the community. I encourage others to consider and event like this for your community. Scotts Valley Calfironia is a popular area for Santa Cruz county seniors as the weather is warmer and there are nice mobile home parks nearby, shopping is close and the weather is warmer than in Santa Cruz.
