Jacksonville is a progressive, ever-changing city which aggressively pursues new companies and industries and provides them with a strong home base and plenty of economic incentives. • Finance and Insurance Services

Financial and insurance companies, which have an established base in Jacksonville, continue to experience healthy growth due to an available, educated workforce, a state-of-the-art telecommunications infrastructure, an excellent quality of life and a low cost of doing business.

• Aviation and Aerospace Industries

The overall aerospace industry is an important component of the national and regional economy. The aerospace industry includes manufacturers of aircraft and parts, guided missiles, and space vehicles and parts.

Jacksonville’s access to deep-water ports and three, major interstates gives it an advantage for the advanced manufacturing sector. It boasts a prime, Southeastern location for automotive parts and accessories distribution.

Duval County has seen a positive, absolute growth in manufacturing. Less than 2 percent of the manufacturing industry in Jacksonville is unionized.
