Why it Pays to Work Closely with your Real Estate Agent

The relationship with your real estate agent is an important one, as you will often need to confer about many different subjects, problems and situations along the way regarding your Jacksonville Beach home.

Your real estate agent’s job is to obviously sell your Jacksonville Beach home, but that doesn’t mean that your work is done. A strong relationship with your real estate agent will prove useful as you discuss strategies and ideas regarding the sale of your home.

What you can do:

  • Keep the lines of communication open between you and your real estate agent. Ask him or her to provide you with weekly updates, and plan to frequently reassess your strategy. Your real estate agent will likely provide you with his or her “plan of attack” regarding the sale of your home, and it is up to you to stay updated on his or her plans and strategies.

Your real estate agent’s weekly updates will likely include number of showings, any feedback received from those showings and the number of inquiries received on the home.

  • Ask questions. Your real estate agent is there to not only sell your home, but to answer questions and quell concerns along the way. Maintaining a tight relationship with your real estate agent will make the process of asking questions and voicing concerns an easier one.
  • Don’t agree just to agree. If you feel strongly opposed to a certain strategy your real estate agent is taking, or if you feel your real estate agent is not addressing an important issue, it is vital that you immediately inform him or her.

It is important to remember that you always have the final say when it comes to making decisions about the sale of your Jacksonville Beach home. Your real estate agent, however, will be there to guide you and provide you with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions.
