Alamo Placita real estate can be found north of Speer Boulevard and south of 6th and 7th Avenues, with Downing Street to the East and Pennsylvania Street to the West. Part of the larger Speer area of Denver, Alamo Placita gets its name from Alamo Placita Park, found just north of Speer from Ogden to Emerson.
Some of the most ideal and beautiful real estate in all of Denver can be found among Alamo Placita real estate. The park itself dates back to 1911 with the purchase of 4.64 acres from Speer’s Arlington Park Realty Company. By 1927, a full-fledged park was built.
After the second World War, the Alamo Placita neighborhood continued to grow. Early residences were demolished and new multifamily apartments were built. There were also single-family dwellings, as well as some commercial property among Alamo Placita real estate.
In the 1970s and 1980s, Alamo Placita real estate continued to grow. It was seen as an ideal community for families, many of which were young professional families. As time went on, residents of Alamo Placita began to recognize the historical character of Alamo Placita real estate, and the Historic District was formed.
You’ll find plenty of selections in Alamo Placita homes. There are single family dwellings as well as apartments. There are Victorian homes from the early days of the neighborhood, and there are newer Foursquares and Bungalows. There are Classical Revival residences, Tudor dwellings, and even Spanish Mission-style homes.
