Platt Park Real Estate ~ Neighborhoods In Denver

Platt Park received its moniker from Colonel James H. Platt. A veteran of the civil war and a Virginia statesman, Platt was one of the leading advocates for making Colorado a state back in 1875. The neighborhood that bears his name can be found in the south part of Denver. It is located between Downing Street and South Broadway, and from Mississippi to Evans Avenue.

Quiet and unassuming best describe this community. Platt Park is located just to the southwest of the University of Denver. It is home to the Old South Pearl Street shopping district with its interesting and unique shops. This district, featuring black street lamps that light up the district at night, offers many possibilities for the consumer.

A number of thoroughfares provide residents access to the rest of the city, including I-25, Santa Fe Drive and Downing Street. You will also find the southern terminals for the RTD Light Rail line, which are scheduled to be completed in 2013.

In Platt Park you’ll find all sorts of type of architecture. You’ll find Victorian homes from the turn of the 20th century, sturdy brick bungalows, and all sorts of opportunities in between. Platt Park real estate offers plenty of quiet, along with open spaces and its many quaint shops. There is plenty of new construction as well as remodeling to offer home buyers, as well.
