Niwot Colorado is a small town located in between Longmont Colorado and Boulder Colorado.  Niwot boasts a great atmosphere with the small town feel. 

There is only one small supermarket and a few small restaurants in the town square.  Even though it is small it has it's perks.  When you go to the a restaurant in Niwot, the owner will greet you by name.  There is no big city problems here either. 

There is one high school in Niwot.  Athletics are huge here.  Niwot is well-known for it's great baseball and wrestling programs.

Colorado has had many problems with foreclosures lately.  Colorado have ranked in the top 3 states for foreclosures in the past couple years.

There are some areas that have a higher foreclosure rate and the foreclosures are lowering the home value of surrounding homes in these areas.

The top three counties in Colorado for foreclosures are Weld County, Costilla County, and Elbert County.  Costilla County had the most foreclosures with roughly 252 out of every 1000 home purchases resulting in foreclosure.

There are 42 completely solar-powered homes being built in Westminster, Colorado.  This is not only environmental friendly but it will save the homeowner's money on their utility bills.

The builders (Mcstain Homes) were worried that people would view the solar panels as ugly which many have been because they were unattractive and sat on the homes at weird angles.  So Mcstain Homes is building the solar panels three inches off the roof but in the same plane as the roof.

Homeowners will also be able to see how much power they have created to date using the solar panels and therefore see how much money they are saving.

Pearl Street Mall

Even people that haven't been to Boulder know about the Pearl Street Mall.  It is a big tourist attraction in Boulder.  It is an outside mall that covers the old section of Boulder and features many shops and a vibrant nightlife with many bars. 

During the Winter it is lit up with Christmas light everywhere to be seen.  During the Summer there are tulip beds covering the ground for a very pretty site.  There is also a climbing rock park for the kids and many rock sculptures with flowing waterfalls.
