Craig Gleason is a life long local resident of Chautauqua County, NY. I am in my late thirties. I started selling real estate in 1999.  I specialize in the vacation home market around Chautauqua Lake and in Chautauqua Institution. This is a complicated market. There are many facets to this 20 mile long lake. We can tell you where the weedy areas are, what bays are calm for water-skiing, where the fishing is good and what areas have been best for resale. Knowing the real estate inventory and listening to my clients has led to our achieving the highest sales award that our board of Realtors offers for four years running. We love our area of the country. Here in western NY we have four unique season. Winter can bring brutal cold and snow...and if your a brave local (townie) that means fun! The lake freezes and the boats are replaced with snowmobiles... From there you have access to hundreds of miles of groomed snowmobile trails. For the skiers, there are three resorts within an hour drive. Spring brings beautiful blossoms on rodedendrum and magnolia trees. There are some who are out in their boats as soon as the ice disappears trout season opens in April for you fly fisherman. Summer is warm, lush and very popular. Boating, water-skiing, jetskiing and fishing are some of what goes on here. Another thing we are famous for is GOLF. Golf digest named Chautauqua the "best little golf town in America". Chautauqua Institution is a destination all by itself. It is an experience in arts, education, religion and recreation. The institution runs it's nine week season starting in Late June. That leaves fall...with a slight chill in the air the leaves turn to brilliant colors. Many of our summer friends have winterized there cottages and are back home busy again with the kids at school. That leaves things a bit more quiet than they have been. In our more rural areas, whitetail deer hunting is very popular. All and all, Chautauqua County is a great place to live, or perhaps, just to visit during your favorite season. I hope you find my website helpful. I work on it diligently.
