Why do I think Bend is #1 on the list?

Bend is a beautiful city.  Tucked away on the east side of  the Cascade mountains, Central Oregon has a lot to offer retirees.  The glorious Deschutes River runs through town, and offers recreation and scenic sites.  Scenes from Smith Rock State Park are incredible.  Looking out to the snow capped Cascade Mountains every day is something to cherish. I've put together a slide show of Bend recently.  It can be seen at Bend Oregon slide show.  Bend is also known for it's climate.  Typically we get about 300 sunny days a year. 

The current  Real Estate Market in Bend gives retirees an opportunity to purchase an affordable retirement home. Today's market gives all buyers a lot to choose from in all price ranges.  Currently there are 2053 residential properties on the market in Bend.  Retirees and other buyers have the ability to negotiate on the property that they like.  With interest rates still holding low, now is a great time for retirees to make the move to Central Oregon.

Bend Outdoor Recreation

Bend also gives retirees lots to do in their spare time.  Recreation is big in Bend.  Golf is probably the #1 retiree sport, and there are many great golf courses in Bend.  There are affordable public courses and  exclusive member courses, all with scenic views.  Along with golf, Bend has other outdoor activities for retirees including, Skiing atMt. Bachelor, Fly Fishing, Hiking, and much more.
