Dreaming of LEC's Websites and Architecture
Posted Dec 3, 2008 @ 11:43 am, Viewed by 584 Visitors, Read 647 Times.I've had this screen shot of the REW LEC2 on my desk at the office since probably August. Watched closely as Morgan laid out the development of the site here. Checked the blog posts every few days to see if there was some new development to the site. At first it was simply interesting to see the design process unfold but after a while, when some new feature was introduced I really started wishing my site had the quick search or the featured areas or the thumbnail listings, advanced IDX and on and on.
I always wanted a custom website. I never liked the idea of a generic site, one of many copies, but a true custom website is still out of my budget. Cal Carter who specializes in Gulf Shore Condos has one of the most beautiful custom websites I have seen. I really like the rich colors, the sense of being on the Gulf Coast and the beach. Cal's website is packed with information and well laid out. If I could customize a site to match my area to that extent I would probably do it.
The LEC2 while not a one of a kind custom is still a great site. The best example so far is Ryan Ward's Atlanta Real Estate site. There are call to actions for buyers and sellers. There is already a lot of great content that Ryan was able to carry over from his template site. This is truly a shining example of what someone can do with the LEC2 framework. I have every belief that Ryan will keep improving the site as he gets more time.
With a little push from Morgan I have my own LEC2 now underway. It is going to be a lot of work there is a lot of content needed for this site -- they seem to fit best for regional areas and I'm not transferring the information from another site but starting it from scratch. This will be a new site for Sacramento but I know in the end all the work will be worth it. Looking forward to getting even less sleep but hope to end up with a beautiful website that consumers will come back to time after time to search for real estate.
Thanks Morgan for the push. Ryan and I were discussing how we should get sales tips from you.

Carolyn,
You are about to have a blast getting your LEC2 up and going. And having Ryan and Wayne ramping up LEC2's at the same time is just down right exciting. I am glad you pulled the trigger! Visit my REW Blog and look for my post on what to expect as you make the transition - http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/blogs/thataway61/4945/show/ .
Cal your link had an extra character in it I will repost it: http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/blogs/thataway61/4945/show
This is actually going to be a new site for me so I won't have the questions what will happen when the site goes live. I'm very impressed by the types of Condos in your market. We have nothing like that in Northern California.
Stop Wars? It's supposed to be Star Wars! Luke I am your Father. Help Me Obi Wan you are my only hope
A lot more affordable than California too! For the cost difference you can buy an airplane and come over whenever you want! LOL
I'm not so sure about that. Those waterfront condos seem pretty pricy to me. I'm sure your non waterfrontage is much more affordable than most of California though.
Lucky you, Carolyn, being able to start from scratch.
Yes being able to start from scratch might be a blessing versus a headache--haha.
Looking forward to seeing the twist you are going to put on the REW LEC2. As always, let us know if you need a hand.
Good luck
Mike, somehow your comment got stuck in moderation (wonder why
). I'm in DAVIS, it's all about peace, love and bike riding here.
Thanks everyone for the encouragement. I need to think of starting from scratch as a plus and just start writing.
Original content rules the day!
Carolyn, How is your LEC2 coming along? It's been a month since we heard what you are up to.
I'll try to do an update post this next week
Thanks for the nudge. First have another blog post for here in mind I think you will be interested in.
Cool! Looking forward to seeing both posts...

I am glad you finally took the plunge
As for sales tips - honestly, I am not the salesperson everyone seems to accuse me of being - I just have the benefit of absolutely beleif the in the product i'm selling, and when you beleive in something, the honesty of it all comes through in your voice and instills confidence and trust. I have the benefit of seeing the stats and leads from hundreds of our sites every day - I know they work (as long as the person running them is actually working them) and that truly makes my job not only easy - but also a pleasure.
