New Homes Don’t Need Inspections? Think Again
Posted Feb 18, 2007 @ 4:25 pm, Viewed by 228 Visitors, Read 235 Times. This is a common misconception which merits discussion. Relying on a home builders warranty is the most common reason why buyers of new homes don't have home inspections. In many cases this has proved to be a big mistake. Buyers assume that all significant defects will be noticed or found during the warranty period. This is not always the case.
All new homes have unapparent defects, regardless of the quality of construction or the integrity of the builder. To put it simply, No one can build something as large and complex as a house without making some type of mistake. To assume that any errors will be noticed and corrected before your warranty is up is risky.
