A very good backup service, and the price is right too!

If you have never experienced data loss, you may not realize how important making regular backups really is. The truth is, most people don't even think about backups until they actually need them. When I was an on-site computer support, I constantly ran in the peoplehood made bad decisions not to back up their files for years and years. It became my challenge to restore their files, but in some cases, it was impossible.
The biggest problem with making regular backups is remembering to do it, and making sure that your backups are not residing with your computer. I have been predicting for a long time, the online backup services will become ubiquitous, and a new player is set to make this happen. The service is called Mozy, and it is 100% free as long as you use under 2 GB of space. For those space hogs who need over 2 GB, they offer an unlimited option for only $4.95 per month.
So far, my favorite feature is the fact that it will do automatic backups throughout the day. I check in on it from time to time and see that within the last hour, my files were synchronized with the server. And of course, it uses very strong encryption to ensure that your files are never intercepted.
If you're already paying for an online backup service, or don't have one yet, be sure to check this one out, you'll be very happy that you did, and one day you'll thank yourself for reading this post.
