Electronic signatures; Is this the most efficient way to execute contracts?

docusign_realtor_signature_useb_350

Ever have a client tell you that they can't get to a fax? How about getting a fax back from your client only to have black lines from their fax machine across the front of the page? I was doing some research, and I came across a company called, "Docusign." I tested the system for myself. You can upload your contract, mark where you want your clients to initial/sign and then the system will email the contract them for electronic signature. The only thing your client has to do is check their email and follow the step by step instructions.

According to the law, most states accept electronic signatures like originals. If there is ever a dispute, you must show the persons intent to sign and that you verified them (both of these services are provided by Docusign).

I think I am going to try it out for a while, and see how things go. I am curious to know what the rest of our REW network thinks about this. Looking forward to your feed back.

I've been using Docusign for over a year and love it. It has really been a time saver and especially when it comes to short sales, because there is usually addendums extending the timeframe or changing the price, and now I don't have to worry about meeting with my client.
