Of the 178,686 total Greenville County homes in 2005, 15,883 or 10% had been built since 2000. During that same period the population of Greenville County jumped 7%.
In 2006, the Greenville County planning commission considered more than 6,000 new residential lots. Over half of these were in the Greer and Simpsonville areas. In the Greenville MLS there are currently over 1300 new never lived in homes available with the average price being $305,078.
