Greenville Market Performance

Every day the newspapers and television reports flood us with negative information about the nation's housing market.  Proclamations about falling housing values and the extended time it is taking to get homes sold.  It's enough to make many consumers nervous and want to throw their arms up in frustration.

The Greenville South Carolina real estate market continues to contradict these national trends. Average annual appreciation in our area is a healthy 3-5% which has kept our market insulated from falling prices seen in markets that have until recently had unrealistic appreciation.  Below is information about our market so far this year compared to the same time period from 2006.

Trying to make a "national" housing statement is like trying to have a national weather forecast. Each area is different and can't be all lumped together to make predictions. The Greenville economy is strong and diverse which provides stability and the opportunity for continued growth here. The first quarter of 2008 will most likely be a little behind the same period for 2007 but we expect the balance of the year to be strong.
