Greenville: The week in review

This past Saturday the State of South Carolina held the Republican Presidential Primary. This meant the week leading up to the primary was an all out blitz by the Republican candidates. They all made use of extensive television ads and annoying telephone calls throughout the week. One day alone we had 10 calls at my home encouraging us to vote for their candidate. Now that the Republicans are off to Florida for the next primary, we have the Democrats heading to the state for their Primary which will be January 26th. Thank goodness for caller ID to help monitor the calls.

A welcome break from all the political activity occurred on Thursday when we had our first snow of the winter. In the south it doesn't take much snow for the kids to get excited and for the schools to close. In Greenville we had 3 inches which was more than enough for snowmen and sleds. By Friday afternoon the snow was gone as our temperatures returned to the 50's which is typical for our area in the month of January. Our climate is a major plus with people looking to relocate because we do experience the four seasons but in a moderate way.
