Greatest Real Estate Agent in the World Contest my entry

Well, i don't see much value in a contest without some daily updates as to what I am doing...

Most people think that SEO is all about secrets. The truth (at least mine anyway) is that it is about hard work! I am going to post DAILY to this blog showing readers what I am doing to BUILD AUTHORITY for my Greatest Real Estate Agent in the World entry on my blog.

First steps:

My first step was to offer people incentive to join me. Building authority means getting other people involved. See the link above to my post. I offer others CREDIT and ACCOLADES for success if they help me...SEO truly often boils down to relationships!

My second step was to start promoting. i posted about the contest on the Bloodhound Blog. Why? That would mean more competitors? Yes, but it also means more friends to help as well!

Third step- Sharing information here. I set up a category on my REW blog for the express purpose of sharing what I do...huh? Well, it makes sense to involve more people, part of the value for them is to learn how it works and for me to experiement publicly a bit. Can others copy--sure I guess. Will they? Not likely. too much effort.

OK -- More news tomorrow as I add layer upon layer to this project.

BTW- Kudos to Bramlett for a fun idea!

Have a great day!

Damn it! you've got the jump on me already! "I posted about the contest on the Bloodhound Blog" It looks like good SEO is about "who you roll with" and you are already connected to some major players. I don't think there is any hope of me wining this competition.. I'll set my own personal goal of just showing up somewhere on the first two pages.

@Mike - OR, you could point some link love "my direction" and join the team and share in the spoils...grin. Either way, you are a heckuva REALTOR and a good guy. Thanks for dropping by! @Cal- Thanks. Would LOVE to have you as part of my team to take it to the Top! Best Eric

Yeah, Mike, I figured if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Or you could say I took the lazy route.

Posted 2 years ago

Eric you are to funny. Have to decide if it will be more fun to beat you or just help you on this one.

@ Ken- Judy O is already on my team...Join up or be ASSIMILATED--resistance is futile! (grin)...BTW- I had a great time with you at Pubcon...and I have a site to show you...I haven't been sitting still!

Ken, you've got to compete! Otherwise, we'll only have a few people even competing. That won't be fun...

@ Eric, LOL...you are trying to bait me into this one aren't you. What i don't understand are the exact rules. The 3 clicks from your site thing, I can't seem to get what Morgan means. As for the site, I have time if you do, feel free to call. @ Judy, If I had more time there would be no question that I would do it. Also if things started on equal ground it would be better. Most of these types of contests everyone must register a new domain, Eric has a big head start as I will not use my main domain for something like this.

Make it easy on yourself, Ken...we'd LOVE to have you as part of OUR team! . I am going to post the top members of our team as we go! Best Eric

I need to clarify those rules - a bunch of us buddies (The two Erics, Dennis Pease etc have been chatting about it over IM etc for a bit, and I finally got around to posting it at 1AM or so - was a bit tired and actually had to work today - Anyways the idea behind the rule is that as a judge (If I am a judge or there are judges, more like mods I guess) - I should not be able to click on YOUR link out to some one, click on "their" link to someone and then find that "someone" links back to you (Don't create closed loops or triangular link exchanges) that sort of thing

@ Morgan - Ok so we just can't create 3 ways or other reciprocal linking tricks for our entries. That is easy enough. @ Eric - I am so competitive that it's hard to not take a challenge, but the time issue might make me join your team.

Say the word, Ken (or rather --pass the links--grin) and I your on the team. I'd be honored. I can use all of the help I can get. Much appraciated if you can. Let me know! Best.... Eric

I noticed someone was domain name shopping this morning! DP I only noticed because you got there before I could. Morgan, What about links from our own established sites? I'm guessing that's a no-no?

Hey Eric, I've gotten real busy. I'm going to send some "Greatest Real Estate Agent in the World" juice your way when I can.
