Forward Links: Check Yo'Self Fool
Posted Sep 12, 2007 @ 3:45 pm, Viewed by 329 Visitors, Read 339 Times. We all know & understand that linking to "bad neighborhoods" will get you banned or penalized by G quickly. Most of us here don't actively link out to bad 'hoods, and have done a reasonable job of removing any links that we might have had from days of yore. However, if you're like me & have hundreds of pages to wade through that could potentially contain a bad link - how do you check it? I know I don't have time to comb through every page, and check every link. Furthermore, if you're a participant in the do-follow blog movement, you could very easily let a bad link slip through the cracks.
So....Jim has provided a fantastic forward link tool for us all to utilize. This tool will spider your website, and provide you a comprehensive list of who your linking out to, which are reciprocals, and which are potentially "problem links." I wonder a bit about what the tool considers a "problem link" & I spotted a couple of mistakes - it reported a couple of my outbound links as non-recips, and then I went to the site & found my link. But overall, it's a fantastic tool It takes some time to run - 5 to 15 minutes - but the results are well worth it.

Thanks Joe! I actually read that post the other day - I was going to comment, but it had already turned into everyone high-fiving everyone else.
Feel free to rate the post, if you like it!
Bramlett; Thanks for the kind words. I do truly respect the work of the guys on my firends category of my blogroll. It is praise that is not given lightly and well deserved. I don't read very many SEO related blogs, but if I do, they better be interesting fun and informative. Jim's qualifies for that.

Niiiiice post Eric. I like Jim Boykin, as well. I blogged about him a few weeks back: http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/blogs/spoken-gently/2452/show/ Consider reading his article on co-citation, as it is a nice complement to your blog entry today.
