Greatest Real Estate Agent Challenge: Bring Your A-Game!

The gauntlet has been thrown down....on May 1st, we're all going to find out who the Greatest Real Estate Agent in the World is....well, at least in the eyes of Google.

There's some strong competition here.  Blackwell started off by throwing some seriously viral game.  Joe Lane (Smuck) has a page 2 head start (and will no doubt create a few more PR6 squid lenses to help this page out.)  And let's not forget the 22 hour link building sessions that Ryan Ward likes to go on regularly.  But when it's all said & done....will REW, fresh out of the penalty box, end up at the top of the hill?  After all, everyone will be linking to Morgan's post.

Regardless...we all better bring our A Games.  So...what's in an A-Game?

1) Picking the right weapon...err, platform.  Wherever you decide to post your "greatest real estate agent" page, it better have some inherent rankability.  If your on-site blog naturally ranks whenever you post something, it's a great place to go.  If not, start thinking about an off-site blog like Activerain, Wannanetwork, and (of course) REW provide.  Doing so will give you a great headstart.  I asked my magic 8 ball, and he said that the first 3 pages of Google for "greatest real estate agent in the world" will be 90% REW blogs in the next week or so.

2) Making sure you have the right  on-page ingredients.  This means your title & description are solid, and include the right keywords.  It also means that you're correctly using your H tags, and that you've written compelling copy that others will enjoy reading, and want to link to.  Another (often overlooked) key is to make sure that you use a ton of internal linking...properly.  If you're using an on-site blog, maybe stick a link to it in your recurring navigation.  If you're using an off-site blog, make sure and reference it in other sections of that platform (your categories, author bio, or forum signature, perhaps?)  Don't forget that anchor text is VERY important.

3) Picking a GREAT link building strategy...and sticking to it.  There are a lot of great ways to build links: articles, blogs, forums, social media, viral linkbait, begging, pleading, (but not **gasp** buying!)  The point is to pick what you KNOW is effective, and to stick with it.  Come on...we all have top ranking sites - just use our old tried/true tactics!  The execution is key here....bottom line is that the site who's #1, at the end of the day, is owned by the webmaster who flat OUTWORKED everyone else!
