For many reasons including the weather, lifestyle and golf, Phoenix and Scottsdale have been a popular vacation home destination for Canadians for many years. Recently we have seen these numbers skyrocket due to the weak U.S. dollar and declining real estate market and potential for so called "deals".

Hello Nick,
You will definitely get more bang for your buck in Buckeye, but I think it will be much more difficult to rent and there is much more downside to the market still ahead in Buckeye. For a pure investment, I would definitely purchase in Chandler/Scottsdale rather than in Buckeye. Please let me know if you have any further questions or anything regarding specific subdivisions you're looking at. Thanks for your inquiry!

Michael -- I'm a canadian looking to invest in the US, specifically the Arizona area. If you had a choice to make on a home for rental purposes only -- would you look at an area like Buckeye over Chandler or Scottsdale in terms of getting more "bang home sf for the buck"? Or would a smaller home in Scottsdale or Chandler still be easier to rent than the fringe areas of Arizona? I appreciate this is a general question that may be difficult to answer, but from a highlevel perspective, what would be a more prudent investment at this time?
I appreciate any comments you can provide.
Regards,
Nick
