New Life To Downtown Arlington

photo FindCRE

This old Chevrolet dealership, originally built in 1927, is the only building of its era still intact in downtown Arlington. As with many other properties in the area, it is getting new life as it becomes a new, trendy mixed-use development. It will offer great convenience for anyone looking for easy access to downtown Arlington, or for those who wish to live in a more urban environment yet steer clear of the crowded neighborhoods of Dallas.

Planners are excited about the restoration of life and activity to this area of downtown Arlington, which used to be known as “Auto Isle.” Due to population shifts during the 1960’s, the dealerships of old were forced to relocate, and the area lost some of its earlier luster.

Now, with the redevelopment of the area,…

The Dallas Townhouse Market

photo FindCRE

Townhouses do not really fit into either of the main categories of homes for sale in Dallas. They are not as spread-out as your typical single family home, yet they provide more space than a condominium. The market is not quite sure how to view them either, and right now townhouses are having mixed success in the marketplace.

Unfinished Business

Some builders, plagued by an excessive amount of inventory already on the market, are pulling the plug and walking away from partially finished developments. For example, on Bryan Street there is a large, unfinished townhouse development that has been abandoned, leaving the weeds to reclaim the property.

Starts are Down

Starts in Dallas townhouses are also down, dropping 75% since their early 2007 peak. Right…

Expansive Trail System Links Much Of Grapevine’s Real Estate

photo FindCRE

Anyone lucky enough to own a piece of Grapevine real estate can take advantage of the more than 22 miles of hard-surface trails and four miles of soft-surface trails that wind their way throughout this gorgeous north Texas town.

Maintained by the Grapevine Department of Parks & Recreation, the trail system has been designed not only to offer Grapevine residents and visitors easy access to expansive open spaces, but they have also been strategically located to link many important landmarks and attractions throughout the town.

One of the longest trails currently in place is the C. Shane Wilbanks Trail. At approximately four and-a-half miles long, it links Horseshoe Trails Park with Oak Grove Park and Acorn Woods, along the shores of Grapevine…

DFW Airport May Be Going To The Dogs

photo FindCRE

A new project is being proposed for the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport that would make traveling a lot more convenient for pet owners. Right now, the airport is searching for a two to three acre parcel of prime real estate to use for a new pet resort.

The plans were announced for the first time at the 2008 Airport Revenue Conference & Exhibition, held at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine. Part of the land owned by the DFW Airport is in Grapevine, and the prosperity of pet services near the area could lead to new uses for Grapevine real estate.

A Place to Pamper Pets

The project is still in the idea phase, but could include such amenities as large outdoor play areas and even a dog bone-shaped swimming pool. Having a pet…

I'm Not The Greatest Real Estate Agent In The World - I Just Compete Agains...

photo FindCRE

A friend of mine and I were talking about boxing today, when I came up with my new jingle for the greatest real estate agent in the world competition. A boxer named Glen Johnson had a great qoute after he knocked out Roy Jones Jr in the 9th round.

"I'm not the best, I'm just the guy who's willing to fight the best." What a gracious prizefighter!

It kind of reminds me of myself in this friendly competition. There are so many great real estate agents and SEOs here in our REW community. I'm happy just being a participant

I'm not the greatest real estate agent in the world - I just compete against them

Now, if the above statement were only true. I must WIN, I can't help it if I'm not a good sport like Glen Johnson!  lol

Buyer Tip: Do Not Make Any New Purchases

photo FindCRE

Right now could be a prime time to make a purchase in the Dallas housing market. Interest rates are at lows we may not see again for a long time – if ever – and home prices have leveled out. If you have cash for a down payment and good credit, you will have no trouble qualifying for a home loan.

Prior to completing the home buying process, though, many people forget how new expenditures and shuffling money around can affect their ability to qualify for a mortgage, or how it can impact the price of a home they can afford.

Debt to Income Ratio

If you enter into a negotiation on a piece of Dallas real estate, the lender is going to look at your debt to income ratio in determining whether you qualify for a loan. What this means is they will compare the…
