When Is the Work Day Done?

I'm going to keep this short since it is 12:30 AM and I just came in from my workday 2 hours ago. I did not have dinner tonight , ditto for two nights ago, same situation. I need feed-back please from fellow realtors (or anyone in a service type industry)- Does anyone but me have a problem saying "no" to customers?

I'm not sure if it's the fear of losing business, or the fact that I really do enjoy helping my customers, or that I'm a borderline insomniac so I might as well be working if  I'm up anyway, but am I setting a bad precedent by showing my customers that I am always available no matter what time of day? And what about my family, am I being fair to them???

Let me know what you think.

I was at work at 8 AM yesterday, and I think I got off the phone with Drew Hartanov (long term customer and great guy) around 11 PM or so - I probably left an hour or so later.

Honestly that is rare for me these days (I typcally only work 12-14 hour weekdays now, but I used to be a lot worse, and to be quite honest, I think my family life suffered for it (Which isn't fair to them, and not worth it)

Now what I try to do is get home before dinner (On most days) and spend time (Dinner and several hours afterwards) with my family whenever I can (Which is most days) and then it is not until they go to be (Around 9PM) that I go back to work (In my home office) I will usually work until 1-2 AM from home - This way I still loose the sleep (I say that like it's a positive) but still get my "workaholic" fix.

Also on weekends, I have learned that no more than 4-6 hours of working per day is acceptable

It can be tough for us types - being driven to succeed combined with extremely customer focused can have some serious consequences and sometimes you just have to turn off the computer / phone (I don't watch TV, but turn that off to) and spend time with those who love you.
