Can Gas Prices Get Any Higher??

The  other day I was in New York on my way to the airport when my daughter reminded me that we needed to fill the car before returning it, so that we would not have to pay the inflated gas rates that the rental agencies charge. Stopping in a nearby town we were shocked to find gas priced at $4.65 p/gallon. Thinking that we could do better we drove around for 10 minutes (wasting more gas) only to find 2 other stations with similarly priced gas. Grateful that we had rented an economy sized car (and that I wasn't driving my new "crossover vehicle" whatever that means) we filled up and $55.00 later we were on our way.

Arriving back in Florida I was pleasantly surprised to find gas priced at a reasonable (hahaha) $4.27 at one station and $4.13 a mere 1/2 block away. (go figure!!).  It has become my current obsession to drive around in search of the cheapest gas, before I stop to fill my car. I unreasonably waste gas and time in search of "the best deal". If it happens to be at a gas station with slurpees, that's a bonus!!  I am continuously frustrated with the sometimes huge price fluctuations from one station to the next , for no obvious reasons what -so -ever. It is also annoying to see gas priced at $4.27 at 9pm one night , and less than 12 hours later at 8 am the next morning priced at $4.12 at the same station. It's as if I am being toyed with.(what happened while I was sleeping?) I sometimes feel that I must be on "Candid Camera" and that someone is recording my reactions for some T.V. comedy.

This whole experience has made me re-think what I thought was a bizarre phone call that I received 3 weeks ago. It was from a fellow realtor calling to inquire about one of my listings. She asked "How negotiable is your seller?"  I answered that the house had just been reduced to a price that we felt was "priced to sell" and in keeping with the current market and recent neighborhood sales. I would certainly however present all offers. She thanked me and explained that business is tough, and she no longer  randomly shows houses; she carefully screens everything since she has no desire to drive around showing homes where the sellers will not budge in price. "It is a huge waste of gas " she explains.  I am not sure if I agree with her methods or whether it is something that I would ever do, but I do understand where she is coming from. It has made me take pause and think about the current market situation. Have people stopped driving around to look at homes in fear of wasting gas?

CAN GAS PRICES GET ANY HIGHER???

This to date was my only phone call like this, but if prices keep increasing will there be more??
