Although it has become one of the fastest growing areas in Middle Tennessee, Hendersonville has not lost its “laid-back” atmosphere and flare for southern living!
Called the City by the Lake, Hendersonville offers something for everyone, whether leisure and sport fishing, boating, golf, sports of all kinds, biking, walking/jogging, shopping, art, music, or fine dining!
Real estate in Hendersonville is also on the rise! Housing is available in all price ranges, from luxury lake homes to sub-divisions and condominiums. Larger lots are very sough after such as Somerset Downs which also features in own community horses!

Parks
Drakes Creek Park, located in the heart of Hendersonville on Main Street, has soccer and ballpark fields, paved walking/biking trails (http://www.bikinhville.homestead.com/) that run along the creek and throughout the park, and a volleyball (sand) court that stays open and lighted for late night games!
Directly across Drakes Creek Park on the south side of Main Street is Drakes Creek – Veterans Park. Located on Old Hickory Lake, it is a haven for a variety of water fowl, making it a perfect place to sit on a park bench and while-away an afternoon! The park offers, paved walking/bike trails, picnic areas, and Kids Kingdom, a wonderful playground complete with slides and climbing nooks!
Saundersville Park,located at the end of Sanders Ferry Road, has numerous picnic areas for small and large gatherings, boat ramp access to Old Hickory Lake, a model airplane field, and tournament disc golf! There are park benches scattered throughout the park and paved walkways!
Shopping and Dining
Several local cafes offer the best southern-style breakfasts and lunches found anywhere in the South! There are dozens of national chain restaurants to choose from, as well as local-southern, seafood, and ethnic. And Hendersonville is not without music: there are several local restaurants and night-spots to hear live music every night of the week!!!
Over the past few years, Hendersonville has become a shopping mecca, with everything from discount stores to specialty shops! So whether you’re looking for the latest French fashions, breads/pastries, a new guitar, original artwork, antiques, office supplies, or whatever, you can find it in Hendersonville!!!
Also, during the last couple of years, several ethnic food stores have opened in Hendersonville, offering a variety of specialty items not found in national chain groceries.
Arts
Hendersonville Arts Council located in the historic Monthaven Mansion (http://www.hendersonvillearts.org/) on West Main Street, offers an impressive galley of arts and crafts on exhibit, as well as a number of art classes for beginners to advanced!
Sumner County Playhouse located on Main Street provides live theater productions!
