Leipers Fork Village: Homes and Real Estate

Leipers Fork is a small village located in the pristine rolling hills of Williamson County in Tennessee. Its situated on the Natchez Trace and was named after the pioner surveyor Hugh Leiper. Hugh was well known for eating his breakfast with an extremely bent and deformed fork and then area became known as Keipers Fork.....well maybe not...but Hugh Leiper is a real character.

It was originally settled by pioneering families given land grants in gratitude for their services and involvement in the Revolutionary War. One of these settlers, Col. Jessee Steed, was given 2504 acres which is where the Leipers Fork village is now located.

The Leipers Fork area  real estate now is becoming more and more sought after with people like Faith Hill and Tim McGraw buying an old plantation home as well as the new Beechwood Plantation equestrian development.

Other interesting facts about the villageshow that it had a post office for 100 years until 1918, a bank from 1912 to 1932, and a rail road station from 1909 until 1927.

Today the village is a popular tourist spot and the merchants in the village range from upscale antiques to a traditional meat and three eatery.

The village also plays host to a number of arts and crafts festivals through out the year as well as special musical events which can feature some of the local residents more often than not see on the national stage.
