Nashville Home Renovation

The market for home renovation is huge. The last 5 years have seen an explosion in the do it yourself craze of room make overs and advice from interior designers.

If you are in the situtation where you already live in a $1 million home and you feel you've out grown it or you need a change then an option is to look at adding that extra bedroom or bonus room.

The concept is quite simple really. Add another bay to your existing 3 car garage or raise the roof line etc but finding a builder who is capable of doing this work has been difficult in Nashville until Frank Santas started to expand his upscale construction business. "as the market slows down in terms of new builds, I've been able to focus on other areas of the business and work with remodels and renovations"

The slow down in the markey has caused people to rethink their position when it comes to buying a new home for the sake of investment. Not buying a house every two years means that people will have the chance to focus on improving what they have already and renovate the areas in a home trhat seem to be the most influential when it comes to actually appealing to a potential buyer.

Kitchens have always been a favorite for the need for renovation. Appliances that at one time were seen to be state of the art can in a few short years seem very dated and and as such devalue the house. Spending over $50,000 to renovate the kitchen by adding granite counte tops, new cabinets, new tile work and new appliances is probably the average cost of a small kitchen renovation. Some homes can easily spend over $200,000 just on kitchen renovations.

Flooring is another area that can transform a home. Installing hardwood floors can be very costly and messing especially at the sanding and finishing stage, but the effect is universally appealing and will add value to the home.

landscaping is one area that a lot of people neglect and this tends to be one of the biggest factors in curb appeal. Spending a few thousand can add value in terms of transforming the curb appeal of your home.
