The Charlotte real estate market is finally starting to cool.  House inventory is sitting on the market longer than one year ago, plus according to the index, there was a decrease in homes that are put under contract.  What that means is the media is finally taking its affect on the opinions of potential home buyers. 

Buyers looking to purchase a home are waiting to see what the market is going to do, instead of buying in the right neighborhood.  The real estate is still hot in certain neighborhoods, but its good to buy in the areas that are starting to emerge.  This sort of problem is causing homeownes to slash the price on their homes which is actually hurting the overall values of a particular area.  You might get a quick sale but most times you can get more for your home.

Real estate agents aren't as agressive about selling homes as they were because they feel the market is falling apart as well.  Its is sorta, but its mainly their faults because they suggest that homeowners lower their asking price if they don't get an offer on the house.  In todays market its more important to network than put houses on their computer and sit back and wait for offers.  That used to be a good method before the internet age, now since the internet, agents have to educate themselves and evolve with time.
