Carolina Panthers Training Camp - Greenville/ Spartanburg South Carolina

photo GreenvilleSC Arick

One of the attractions in the Greenville/ Spartanburg area is the Carolina Panthers annual training camp, which is held at Wofford College. Each year thousands of fans travel for miles to see the Panthers prepare and condition for the upcoming season. Each camp session is usually 2-3 hours and gives sports fans an up-close view of professional athletes in action. There are also opportunities for autograph signings and photography.

Wofford College is located near downtown Spartanburg SC, and just a short 30 minute drive from Downtown Greenville.   Below are some of my own photos from my latest visit July 30, 2008 and descriptions of each.     Steve Smith puts a move on Chris Gamble with a curl route, then makes the catch for a 10 yard gain after… Read Full Post

Neo-Traditional Home Design In Greenville South Carolina

photo GreenvilleSC Arick

Neo-Traditional home design (also called Traditional neighborhood design), couples modern neighborhood planning and development with a little bit of history. Most American and European communities in the 18th and 19th centuries were close knit environments designed and built that way out of necessity. But because of the rise of the automobile and other modern means of transportation, urban sprawl began to take over.   Many new construction homebuilders and development planners are now trying to bring back the sense of close knit communities that was once so successful. By offering tree lined streets, sidewalks, picnic areas, playgrounds, and many other common area amenities, these new construction neighborhoods seem to be catching on quickly.   Read Full Post
