New Manhattan Beach Toilet Retrofit Ordinance

As of January 21st the city of Manhattan Beach is requiring all residential home sales to include low flow toilet retrofits prior to escrow closing. Exceptions include

1. Homes with prior retrofit certerificates
2. Foreclosure slaes
3. $200 deposit to ensure compliance within 180 days of tiltle transfer date
4. Proposed demolition
5. All existing toliets flush only 1.6 gallons of water (Exempt until January 1, 2014)
6. 1.28 gpf retrofit kits installed with cerification
7. An exception from the Director of Community Development Department
