Indianapolis New Homes Layoff

Within the past week, both Beazer Homes Indianapolis and KB Homes Indianapolis have gone through another round of layoffs.  The word on the street is that KB Homes will be selling off their remaining land and pulling out of the Indianapolis area.

While on the face of it this may seem like bad news for the Indianapolis real estate market, I believe that if KB does pull out this will have a positive impact.  Indianapolis builders have flooded the marketplace with a glut of new homes and have been a major force in keeping prices stagnant in the Indianapolis marketplace.

Less competition is always good for prices…

I like forward thinking like this, Mike. I think it provides valuable insight to your clients. KB Homes is also in my market, and I will be sure to keep an eye out for any layoffs in my area.
