Greenwood Grows Again

Medco, one of the nation’s largest pharmaceutical distribution companies, announced yesterday that they will be building a $150 million distribution center somewhere in the central Indiana area.  Greenwood which is seeing explosive growth along I-65 corridor is among the favorites sites for the center.  If Greenwood could land this deal, 1,300 jobs would be created with salaries ranging from $40,000 to $100,000 per year which translates to an annual payroll of $60 million for the local economy.

Needless to say, this would be HUGE for the city of Greenwood and Greenwood real estate.  $60 million dollars per year would have a great impact on the local economy and would create more demand in the real estate market.    Greenwood is landing big deals right and left; Arbonne recently opened a massive facility in Greenwood, Cabela’s is constructing a new store, and 5 new hotels are slated for construction along the I-65 corridor in Greenwood.  Greenwood is definitely poised for some major growth over the next few years and this can only have a positive impact on the real estate market.
