Special Census : Fishers Population Up 73% Since 2000
Posted Apr 10, 2008 @ 12:37 pm, Viewed by 578 Visitors, Read 600 Times.Back in October Fishers conducted a special census to accurately count exactly how many people live in Fishers so they could claim more tax dollars from the state. What’s the total number? 65,382 to be exact, that represents a 73% increase in population since 2000 and an astonishing jump from the 7,200 population back in 1990. This ranks Fishers 2nd in the fastest growing cities or towns in the entire state of Indiana and the state’s 10th largest community just behind Carmel and Muncie.
Will the growth continue? If predictions are correct, by the year 2025 Fishers will be home to 120,000 residents and be the state’s 3rd largest community. This growth is not limited to Fishers; Hamilton County is the nation’s 23rd fastest growing county since 2000 adding more than 78,000 residents.
As a result of this growth and projected continuing growth, you can be sure that Fishers Indiana real estate and the rest of Hamilton County real estate will remain in demand for years to come.
