Who Is The Best Real Estate Company? Does The New Jersey Real Estate Company Matter?
Posted Aug 29, 2007 @ 1:05 am, Viewed by 641 Visitors, Read 675 Times.Few home owners ask this question when considering who to interview to sell their home. That is until they come accross a Realtor working under a company they have not heard of before. Then the future home owners get concerned that hiring a Realtor from the wrong company will impact the sale of their home.
Some Things To Consider
- Home buyers don't care who the home is listed with, Just that it is the right home and that the pricing of the home is proper.
- Other Realtors don't care who the home is listed with, Just that they can find it in the MLS, that it is easy to get an appointment, and that the home presents well during showings.
- The Pricing of your home matters a great deal. Over price it and nobody will be able to sell it, no matter how they market it.
- Home buyers are not dumb, 82% of them spend 6 months or more online researching homes, before they look at the first one. When they select one They and their Realtor carefully look at the recent comparable sold listings, to decide on a price to offer, or if your price is out of line, probably not make an offer at all.
- The Marketing of your home by the Realtor you hire matters greatly. Just like products on a grocery store shelf, your home is a product. The more heavily a product is marketed in a smart way, the more it usually sells for.
Please Understand: It is very important which Realtor you hire to sell your home. The Real Estate company does not really market your home. The Realtor you hire markets your home. How well or how badly your home is marketed depends on the Realtor you hire.

Thanks for the comment Ryan, It is so strange how people put so much faith in the Real Estate company but don't check into the REALTOR they are about to hire at all. There are so many cases in my own neighborhood where home owners have hired REALTORS, to sell $700,000 plus houses, who have not sold any homes in their entire career. Most all of these homes sit on the market for 150 days or more and get reduced in price many times 15% or more. Not Good At ALL.
Mike is from Remax, he said he would call every Tuesday with a up date & not one call. My wife & I have a great house. We feel he talks with a fork tongue. We want to sell & move on with our life. He has not had one person come over & I know there buyers out there. Thanks for your time.
Steve, not sure who Mike is, or where in the country he works, but as I say all the time, all REALTORS are not the same. It is very important to interview 2 or 3 REALTORS before hiring one to sell your home. Another important point that you touched on, there are buyers out there, but remember buyers are smart these days, they don't look at a home if it is over priced.

Nice post Jim - all true. Sometimes conveying that message to a skeptical seller is harder than it shoul be though. I just wrote an artcle on what I personally do to market homes for sale in Alpharetta, where I live and you can clearly see from what I wrote that it is agent dependent, not company dependent.
