Morristown Memorial Hospital Officials Deny Owning Morristown 1.7 Million
In the continuing story, Morristown Memorial Hospital owners Atlantic Health deny having parts of their operation here in Morristown as for profit entities.
Still Morristown pushes forward trying to collect real estate taxes.
It has been my opinion for a while not that Morristown NJ government officials should be spending the vast majority of their time trying to find ways to cut spending, rather then finding ways to ring more money out of places like Morristown Memorial Hospital. I think that cost cutting efforts would be much more appreciated by the voters of Morristown.

Many people who live in one of the Midtown Direct towns already may know this, but that train line really helps property values. It looks like in the future the Midtown Direct train line will enhance property values even more than it does today.
With fuel prices looking like they will be $3 or higher for the foreseeable future and more and more people trying to be eco friendly there are going to be more and more people wanting the ability to walk or bike to a train station so that they can commute into New York City or some of the Eastern New Jersey cities.
When looking for a home in Northern New Jersey, you would be very wise to keep this trend in mind and give the train line towns extra consideration.

Morris Township Officials report that there is a small parking ticket boom happening at the Convent Station Train Station. Morris Township police are writing 15 to 30 more parking ticket a day at the train station ever since the closure of the 128 parking space lot accross the street from the Morristown train station.
The lot accross the street from the Morristown Train Station closed in January of 2008 so that construction of Transit Village could begin. Transit Village will be 218 home rentals, and over 700 parking spaces and is slated to be completed in July of 2009.
As a remedy for parking issues which were created by the closure of the parking lot in Morristown, New Jersey Transit offered a free shuttle bus service from Headquarters Plaza to the…

How Do New Jersey Home Buyers Search For Homes.
Or better said, how do New Jersey home buyers search for homes on the internet. Many times they will go to such places as REALTOR.com or to one of the third party companies who put some of the listings up hoping to draw people to there websites.
Usually though they go to places like Google and do a search. What do they search though? Usually they search something that just comes naturally, something like New Jersey MLS Search or Search The New Jersey MLS.
What does the National Association of REALTORS want the public to think of when they want to search for homes?
They want the public to think of some thing like:
Search New Jersey Homes For Sale
But how likely is it that the National Association of REALTORS is going to be able to get the public…

Morristown NJ Home Buyers, Did you know, the Federal Reserve has cut the interest rate they charge banks 1.25% over the past few weeks? This could have a huge effect on the home you can now afford to purchase in Morristown NJ or other surrounding towns.
Have you talked with your mortgage person lately? With every 1% mortgage interest rate reduction the typical mortgage payment drops 9%. This can make a huge difference in the home you can afford. For example, if you thought that the highest home price you could afford was $600,000 you could move that number up to $654,000 with a 1% mortgage interest rate cut, and still have approximately the same mortgage payment. I have a feeling that interest rates are not going to be staying down at these levels for… Read Full PostWhat Do New Jersey Home Buyers Want??
Many home sellers here in New Jersey seem to be totally in the dark about this question. These home sellers do not seem to understand that today's home buyer does not wish to deal with contractors, trying to be creative in figuring out how to update a home which has not been up to date since it was built 30 to 50 years ago.
Today's New Jersey home buyer is looking for the following:
- Fresh and contemporary colors
- New or newer appliances in the Kitchen
- New or in very good shape cabinets in the kitchen which accentuate the positives of the home not the negatives of the home.
- Up to date bathrooms.
- Great curb appeal, many times a home buyer will not even go into a home which does not have this.
If you look at your home with a…

With The Latest Interest Rate Cute, The New Jersey Midtown Direct Real Estate Markets Should Strengthen Even More!!
January 26th 2008 and the buyers keep coming out of the wood work. This sure is not like January 2007 when NJ REALTORS may as well have gone on vacation for a few months for the few actual home buyers who were at at that time. This year January feels more like a typical April Real Estate market.
One problem though! There sure are not that many homes out there which are properly priced. Too many New Jersey home sellers still have there homes priced more than 5% above where their house should be priced. OK I said 5% but that 5% is a magic number, usually home buyers don't even want to look at homes which are that much or more over…
