Today marks a new chapter in this drama.

I was ready to let bygones be bygones with this company.  The chargeback finally went through after several round of back and forth and ultimately RECR - Real Estate Client Referrals decided that they did in fact charge me incorrectly.  See the credit card company allows each party to dispute the charge and to continue to dispute the charge indefinitely.  Basically, in some cases, it just comes down to who is the most tenacious.

Now, after already accepting the fact that they ripped me off, and allow the money to be returned, they have sent my "case" to a debt collector.

RECR - Real Estate Client Referrals

They did it again! You'd think that with the amount of negative press they are getting about screwing over agents, that they would just drop my request for a refund, refund the money so I can go on my way.  However, since they continue to fight I'm wanting to get my money's worth out of it.

In their latest response, they said:

 

4. The card holder has received 12 referrals as of September 30th, 2008. These clients are looking for help from a Realtor in that area. We review each referral before sending them to the Realtor to ensure a quality lead. The referrals are then sent to the Realtors email address, per the subscription terms. After my experience with RECR and their over zealous sales practices, I posted some articles for all to read:

A quick google search for "Real Estate Client Referrals" would have revealed all the complaints about this company.  Instead, you are encouraged to research RECR as the term and you'll find nothing.

Interestingly enough, after doing a little digging and trying to get my money back, this company is being hit with several similiar complaints.
