With foreclosures on the rise, who is helping the homeowner?
Posted Mar 31, 2008 @ 12:00 pm, Viewed by 228 Visitors, Read 238 Times. Is it a real estate agents or brokers responsiblity, whether moraly or fiduciary, to inform clients that have homes or properties listed for short sales or that the agent knows foreclosure is a possibility, that there are other options besides selling the home? Granted, selling homes is how we earn our paychecks, but are all agents or all brokers explaining in full the options to their clients? Are there brokers and agents that try to increase their odds of selling homes by taking any and all listings that come across their desks, not taking the time to explain the state of the market or exploring other options with their clients in fear that they will lose a listing? Do those same brokers and agents realize that by helping their client in other ways might not get them the quick sale that they are looking for, but it could create a customer for life, which leads to more sales down the road?
With the state of foreclosures today, how many families and investors are losing their homes due to the lack of information? Some banks have and will negotiate with homeowners and investors who are in the foreclosure process. Some banks are taking a proactive approach to modify or restructure an existing mortgage debt to a more manageable monthly payment to allow families and investors the opportunity to maintain ownership.
I am writing this with my own opinions in mind and I am only trying to create a platform of questions with out being too judgemental. I am not trying to offend anyone specifically, rather just trying to raise some viable questions.

It is interesting that there are no comments on this. I thought for sure someone would say something. Guess not.
