I've done 6 open houses in as many weeks, and the buyers have been out and looking!

The Panama City Florida Real Estate market while not what it was 2 years ago, is alive and well.

Sellers, I am currently working with buyers in the market for:

• Rental Units - Multi-units (duplexes thru quads), Attached Sngle Family units etc.
• Detached Single Family Homes - I have several out of state families interested in relocating to the Panama City, Florida area.  Homes with 3+ bedrooms are being sold and I am looking for a few in: Callaway, Lynn Haven and Panama City Beach.
• Condos - Condo buyers, are looking for opportunities to buy on the beach.  I have buyers looking for either waterfront or off the water units for vacation and 2nd homes.

Not all the news you see in the media about the terrible state of the real estate market applies to all areas.

Let me explain...

Yesterday, I was posting my updated Real Estate Market Information for the month of October in Panama City Florida and I noticed some good news!

The Condominium market made significant gains last month in Bay County:

The "Groundbreaking" ceremony of the New Panama City Florida International Airport today was very possibly the greatest day in the history of Panama City Florida, depending of course on your personal view of the airport.

For me, it was an opportunity to be associated with a new begining.

There will no doubt be many many articles in the media over the next several days, so I'll omit some of the political references and move right to the event.

The event saw attendees from all over Bay county. From Attorney's and politicians to Business leaders and Pilots and of course myself and other local real estate agents.

It was promising to see the turn out at an event so many worked so hard to complete.

Well, at long last the word has come...

Ground breaking for the new Panama City Florida International Airport.

The ground breaking is scheduled for November 1st!

The airport is scheduled to open sometime late 2009/2010.  The construction of banks, commercial projects and additional housing has been underway in anticipation of this event.

This is very exciting news for our area and I for one welcome the event.  It has been a long road, but finally a light at the end of the tunnel. 

We are ready to move into the 21st century and welcome the change and business this brings to our area.

When you read those words, does your mind conjure an image of a figure lurking in the shadows, motioning you deeper into a gloomy alleyway?  I know it does for me...

Why would I begin my commentary like that?

Mainly due to the horror stories we've all heard and continue to hear about the Real Estate Market.

Let me explain:

In recent years, many thought the real estate market  was a gold mine waiting solely for them to come along and buy up all the properties, make a fortune and retire to an island they purchased with their profits and new found wealth.

Does anyone remember that term and what it actually means?   I was in a local store the other day, and an employee greeted me with a smile and a sincere "Hi, Can I help you?" and actually tried to assist me and make my experience a pleasant one.  I remembered their attitude through out the rest of my day.  I thought to myself... “that was good customer service, they cared enough about my needs to offer assistance” and I know I will return to that establishment in the future...   A few months back, I went into another establishment for the first time looking for a gift for one of my customers.  I had never been at this particular store and thought I'd give them a try.  As I wandered the aisles, I passed several employees either stocking shelves,… Read Full Post

Well it's been awhile since I've blogged and alot has happened.

So, let's get to updating everyone:

As you can see, we've moved our blog to a new location (thanks REW). 

We have a new addition to our family, Shiela the Shelty.  Shiela was found on our way to do an open house for a customer.  She was so friendly and looked so lost. We went door to door trying to find her owner, and after a few hours decided to take her home and contact the local Animal Shelter.  We placed an Ad in the paper but no one responded.  So, she now has a new home and everything looks promising for her future with us.
