The Apprentice Meets Des Moines

When the Apprentice first began and Donald Trump weeded through a handful of entrepreneurs in an attempt to find one who could serve his company well, you watched knowing that in a competition of realtors, you would undoubtedly win. You have skill, experience and know-how. You have a drive that compels you to sell. Papers are signed more often on your desk than on any other realtor’s in the office. You are the best, and you would love to prove it.

Well, here’s your chance.

The Coldwell Banker Mid-America Group is hosting its own Des Moines Apprentice in a search for the next real estate guru. The company will offer the winning realtor training, a $45,000 starting salary and reimbursement of all startup costs, including licensure fees. All the realtor has to do, once she proves she’s the best, is supply her own car, cell phone and individual advertising. All in all, it’s not a bad deal. In fact, it’s a great one.

If you think you can beat out the other realtors in the area, sign up at www.ColdwellBankerMAG.com. Then, attend the information session May 22 at the Des Moines Golf and Country Club at 7 p.m. The meeting will not only outline the parameters of the contest but also give you an idea of whom you are competing against. Hopefully, you’ll find that it’s no contest at all and that that $45,000 starting salary is already yours.

This is your chance to prove yourself and catch the deal of a lifetime. This is your chance to firmly establish your position in the real estate world, so don’t hesitate. Enter . . . now.

Good luck and good selling!

Well, you missed one little detail with this contest... you can not be a realtor.  This is an opportunity for someone to break into the real estate field who has no experience or license.  I was possibly interested in this opportunity and have applied, but am not sure I want to put my family's livelyhood on the line for a career in real estate.  It seems risky to me given the market and the large numbers of people who have entered this field over the last few years when the market was doing better.

Whoops. Yeah that is a pretty big flub. In response to your not wanting to get into the field because of the market: there';s always a price to pay, a learning curve, whatevery you want to call it, when you make a career change. I know what you mean though. The first 4 years of my career were pretty tough and it was a real wake up call from the employee in a hi-tech company background that I had. I really apprecaite small business owners and self-employeed folks much more now than I did before. It's a hard path, but can be rewarding if you work hard and, of course, get lucky. joe
