It used to be that remodeling a kitchen was expensive and if you wanted to go green, you thought it would cost more. The true is that going green in the kitchen is more affordable than not going green. Now, you can afford a green kitchen on a tight remodeling budget. The three things to consider when going green in the kitchen are whether the product is a regional product, the emissions and the materials. For those who want to remodel a kitchen and use all recycled materials, there is a way to do this now.

For kitchen cabinets, you can check with the members of the Kitchen cabinet Manufacturers Association's Environmental Stewardship Program. You will find a list of manufactures that make cabinets out of recycled materials at an affordable cost. For the counter tops, you could use products made by Boise Evergreen and SkyBlend Vesta, which are producing eco friendly counter  tops at an affordable price. For flooring, linoleum made from linseed oil is the only way to stay green. Make sure, when you are shopping for linoleum that it indeed made with linseed oil and not other materials. Linoleum like products will contain some toxins such as a flame retardant.

Eco friendly remodeling in the kitchen is easy when you look for manufacturers that use only natural ways to make the counter tops, flooring and cabinets. The future of the environment depends on how recycled products are used. Remodeling the kitchen and using green products will ensure a healthier environment.

Hope you are enjoying green as much as I am.
