Sarasota Florida’s luxury real estate market of high-end properties has suffered just as other parts of the country, however we've found 11 sales in the $3,000,000+ range so far for 2009. From a high-rise condo on Longboat Key, an Indian Beach estate, to a gated mansion on the waterfront of New Pass, the high-end real estate market in Sarasota continues to post some impressive sales.

On the pristinely manicured island of Longboat Key, Florida, an elegant penthouse at the Water Club Longboat Key sold for $3,000,000. The list price was $3,495,000. We often tout the Water Club as the amenities are fabulous. The Clubhouse is approximately 17,000 square feet offering a social room overlooking the pool and beach. Residents can reserve this space for private parties. There is a private bar with liquor lockers, state of the art fitness center with his and hers locker rooms. Additionally, there is a billiards room, a dark paneled library and a Mahjong room. Outdoor amenities include tennis courts and a beachside swimming pool and spa. A Ritz Carlton penthouse listed at $3,995,000 sold for $3,300,000. Residents are privy to all the luxurious amenities of the Ritz Carlton Hotel including concierge services and 24 hour room service. On St. Armands Circle, a bayside estate sold for $3,250,000 at 81% of the asking price. Moving on to private Casey Key, there is a recorded sale at $3,175,000. This Casey Key home was priced at $4,500,000. In the yachting community of Bird Key, the Sarasota MLS reports a sale of an elegant waterfront home priced at $5,550,000. The selling price was $4,750,000. The highest sale listed in the Sarasota MLS was at $7,423,500. This spectacular waterfront home on exclusive Westway Drive had a list price of $8,999,000.
